During this year’s Ignite event, Microsoft made several announcements related to its Data & A.I. related products and services. Below is list of some of those exciting announcements:

Metrics Advisor

A new AI analytics service that proactively monitors metrics and diagnoses issues. Capabilities include real time monitoring, alerting and root cause analysis of your data.

Wellbeing and Productivity Features Coming in Microsoft Teams

New Spatial Analysis Capabilities

A new A.I. Cognitive service offering that uses computer vision algorithms to detect and count the number of people in a room. Major use cases are: People counting, Social distancing (person distance), Entry and exit events detection.

Azure Orbital

 A fully managed Ground Station as a Service by Microsoft which will enable you to communicate, downlink, and process data from your satellites/spacecrafts on a pay-as-you-go basis

Microsoft SharePoint Syntex

The first product from Project Cortex, will expand knowledge generation capabilities in Microsoft SharePoint. Highlights of these capabilities:

  • Automatic tagging of images including extracting handwritten text into tags
  • Document understanding by building no code A.I. models
  • Forms processing and data extraction

Power BI updates

  • New Microsoft Power BI app for Teams in preview
  • Power BI is now natively integrated with Excel 
  • Power BI Premium Per User licensing model – a lower cost entry price point to get access to Premium capabilities.
  • Preview of Microsoft Power Automate Desktop (new desktop RPA solution) was announced.
  • Smart narratives features to enhance data story telling capabilities
  • Power BI performance accelerator for Azure Synapse Analytics
